Over the academic year 23/24, I have been studying for my Masters degree in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art.
My current body of work explores the technique of lost wax casting. Taking inspiration from my Welsh culture and highlighting the historical significance of Welsh women’s roles in the professional and domestic spheres. I have pulled patterns and motifs from traditional Welsh quilts to create vibrancy and cultural celebration through colour and pattern in cast glass forms.
‘Cwilt’ is a 83x65cm contemporary stained glass piece. It combines traditional stained glass skills with more contemporary digital techniques as well as some three dimensional cast glass elements.
